United Methodist Youth Fellowship meets on Sunday evenings
from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The Youth have supper and recreation
and grow in the Spirit each week. UMYF members are encouraged
to invite friends outside the church who may not have
their own church home, to be a part of the group. Besides
weekly youth meetings, the UMYF has an annual Winter Ski
Retreat and a Summer Beach Retreat. Additionally, the
Youth participate in local and national charitable fund
raisers.
Easter Sunrise Service
and Breakfast :::::::::::::::::::
The Youth are in charge of the church’s annual Easter
Sunrise Service, held on Lake West Point each year. They
make the arrangements and produce and lead the Worship
Service.
This service is open to members of the community and is
a special outreach to campers at Lake West Point.
Handbells :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The Handbell Choir meets each Wednesday afternoon from
5:15-6:00 o’clock in the Handbell Room on the third
floor of the Education Building. Minimum age 7th requirement
is t grade. This combined adult, youth choir has five octaves of bells at its disposal. Musical
theory and ringing technique are taught, so no experience
is necessary.
Foreign Mission Projects
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The Mission Committee works with the Board of Global Ministries
in seeking foreign mission projects in which members,
including youth, can take part. Central America and the
Caribbean have been the focal points for these work/Bible
projects.
Mountain T.O.P. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The Youth annually participate in the Mountain T.O.P.
experience, an outreach program in Appalachia. The church
is in mission with them by helping them to raise the necessary
funds to go on the trip.
