The Journey of Lent

Our focus this Lenten season will be what it means for us to Journey with Jesus as he makes his way to the cross. Plans and experiences for each of us are underway and I’m looking forward to what the journey will reveal.

Here's a look at what to expect!

Lenten Sermon Series
Footsteps: Jesus and His Journey of Love
February 21st – March 28th

Jesus’ ministry on earth only lasted a short three years. Join us as we journey in the footsteps of Jesus as he engaged in ministry and ultimately makes his way to the cross. What will we discover? What will we see? What will be our response to the loving sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf?

Lenten Study
The Walk: Five Essential Practices of the Christian Life
February 21st – March 28th, 5pm (in-person in the chapel and Zoom)

If we truly want to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and serve him faithfully, what must we do? Using Adam Hamilton’s book, The Walk, we’ll focus on five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God. This study will be led by six different faithful leaders of our church. Please call the church office to sign up and indicate your location preference (chapel or zoom). Hamilton’s book can be purchased on Amazon or Cokesbury.

Stations of the Cross
March 22nd - April 3rd
For centuries, pilgrims traveled to Jerusalem to visit the sites associated with Jesus’ death and resurrection. Returning home from Jerusalem, pilgrims often recreated these sites in their churches and called it the “Stations of the Cross.” This helped those who could not visit Jerusalem in person, experience the journey of Jesus through artwork and other means.  You will have the opportunity to journey through the Stations yourself! Please enter through the Zachry Center Doors.
